DHA Phase 1 Islamabad–Rawalpindi: location and map guide
DHA Phase 1 is part of Defence Housing Authority Islamabad–Rawalpindi, Pakistan. DHA describes its setting as semi-mountainous. Its published phase information also references Defence Mall and Defence Park, providing useful landmarks when researching the area.
The DHA Phase 1 map available here covers Sectors A–E. Use it to understand the relationship between the labelled sectors and trace the roads and plots shown on this particular sheet. This is a guide to the supplied drawing, rather than a claim that it covers every part of Phase 1.

History and published area
- Launch year: A historical JICA development table records 1992.
- Historical reported area: The same table lists 1,375 acres, equivalent to 11,000 kanals. This is a historical figure, not a verified launch-day area or current boundary measurement.
- Community milestone: DHA records the inauguration of Avicenna Medical Centre in Defence Park on 13 March 2007.
- Infrastructure milestone: DHA records implementation of its underground electricity supply system in May 2009.
Launch, development, possession and first occupancy are different milestones. A verified first-occupancy date was not established from the sources reviewed.

Sectors A to E sheet
The river is labelled Soan River along the north-east edge. Sector A sits nearest the river bend at the top of the sheet. Sector B is drawn below A, Sector C further south-west, then the river splits the drawing: Sectors D and E occupy the south-east bank.
Plot outlines and some street numbers are drawn, but no plot-size legend is readable on this scan. An orange compass rose is printed in the open centre.
- SVC Road is labelled on the neck of land between the western sectors and Sector D.
- Overhead water tank labels appear near Sector B and again toward Sector D.
- Sector D includes a green block labelled as a park (Defence Park is the readable park name on that side of the sheet).
- Sector E is the southern pocket on the river, with residential blocks filling the loop.
- I & II Avenue and other short street labels are present; many names are too small to transcribe reliably from the overview.
